Sometimes we need to hear from a sister. Your sister will see things in you that you don’t see in yourself. This letter is not necessarily to my biological sisters. I want to address it to all my “sisters”. I encourage you to continue to grow. Seek God first and everything else will fall into place.
Sis, let me start by saying I love you and I want nothing but the best for you. Three of the most powerful words are I love you and we often don’t say those three words enough. I see you struggling trying to find your identity, to find your place and your purpose. You are stronger than you think. I watch from afar admiring your persistence and determination to take on any task and conqueror it. I pray daily that you would take that energy and put it into seeking God. I pray that you find the love He has for you. God has brought you through so many obstacles and situations that probably should have destroyed you. But they didn’t and to God be the glory, you are stronger because of those trials and tests. Maybe you do know Him, you kind of trust Him, you think you love Him, but you won’t completely submit and live for Him, why? When I was younger I was the same way. I knew God always had his hand on my life, but I ran from what I knew I was supposed to do and how I knew I was supposed to live. I put my love and energy into so many unworthy things and people. I wasted so much time doing what I knew was wrong.
I see the pain behind your smile. I know that pain. The hurt behind the nonchalant attitude. Yup, I know that hurt as well. I’m here to tell you it’s okay to no be okay, it’s okay to let your guard down and allow God in. I pray you grow to learn that there is power in the name of Jesus. It breaks my heart to watch you struggle knowing that there is an everlasting love waiting for you if only you let God in. I see so many great things for you if only you step aside and let God completely in. Allow Him to grow you, to nurture you, to make you whole again. Your journey may be harder than others but know that God is always with you. Psalms 55:22 says cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you, he will never let the righteous be shaken. You need to trust him, you need to give Him all your cares and worries. But I ask one thing when you give them to Him, leave them there. Sis, the load you carry doesn’t need to be so heavy if only you trust him.
My sister, the mountains I see you moving and the things God has in store for you are more than you could ever imagine. “what no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” the things God has prepared for those who love him these are the things God has revealed to us by his spirit. (1 Cor 2:12) I encourage you to let Him in. Allow Him to work on you to restore you to the woman he has preordained you to be.
Until next time
-C
